Iridology
Iridology is a specialization within naturopathy in which the practitioner photographs your iris, pupil and sclera to look for constitutional tendencies. The exam is non-invasive: the images are projected onto a monitor, explained to you and followed by nutrition and lifestyle suggestions. At our clinic, iridology consultations are offered by Gino Bellinfante, ND and Melina Scalcione, ND.

Iridology is a specialization within Naturopathy and a method that is used most commonly in Europe. This approach helps practitioners identify imbalances, genetic tendencies and inherited predispositions. Similar to reflexology, the eye reflects much registered information that our body communicates through the brain. Since the eye can be compared to a blueprint of the body, it is a great tool in finding solutions to unwanted symptoms and can aid in staying on top of health challenges and early undesired symptoms.
Iridology is a preventative method that brings forth a clearer understanding of bodily information. Like the incredible detail of a fingerprint, no two irises are identical. What makes you stronger than the person sitting next to you? Why do you feel chronically tired when you slept all night?
The procedure is a non-invasive exam that requires photography of the iris, pupil and sclera. Images are then projected onto a monitor for analysis and explanation.
Counsel and suggestions on nutrition and lifestyle are then discussed throughout the consultation. Your iris can help the Naturopath gain perspective on root causes or why certain issues are arising and what what you might be doing to trigger them.
Iridology does not diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent disease. It is not a substitute for visiting your conventional medicine doctor. Naturopaths and Iridologists do not provide medical advice.

Frequently asked questions
Is the iridology exam invasive?
No. Iridology is a non-invasive exam that only requires photographs of the iris, pupil and sclera. The images are projected onto a monitor so your practitioner can analyse them and explain what they see, and counsel and suggestions on nutrition and lifestyle are discussed throughout the consultation.
Who performs iridology at the clinic?
Gino Bellinfante, ND has been in practice since 1992, is a member of the International Iridology Practitioners Association (IIPA) and the ANPQ, and was named IIPA Iridologist of the Year in 2017. Melina Scalcione, ND, an ANPQ member, obtained her iridology certification in early 2024 and pursued mentorship under Jennifer and Gino Bellinfante, ND.
Can children have an iridology consultation?
Yes. For iridology, a child must be over 3.5 years old so they can sit still for the iris photographs. Our naturopaths also see children for naturopathy consultations. If you are looking for supplements made for younger family members, browse our kids' supplements and always follow the age range on each label.
Does iridology replace a medical exam?
No. Iridology is not a medical diagnosis and is not a substitute for visiting your conventional medicine doctor; naturopaths and iridologists do not provide medical advice. Naturopathy is not a regulated profession in Québec, and our naturopaths are members of the Association des Naturopathes Professionnels du Québec (ANPQ), a professional association.
